SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR THE JULY 4th WILI BOOM BOX PARADE

To ensure safety for participants and spectators at the July 4th WILI Boom Box Parade, several policies will be strictly enforced.  Violators will be removed from the parade.  All parade units will be given a copy of these guidelines before the parade.
  • No reckless operator behavior
  • No water spraying by participants or spectators
  • No throwing candy from parade units (It is permissable to have someone walking with the units HANDING OUT candy, but not throwing candy)
  • No motorcycle or bicycle wheelies
  • No revving of engines or burning rubber
The goal is to have the safest parade possible, making it an enjoyable experience for all.  The WILI Boom Box Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. from Jillson Square and proceeds 2/3 of a mile west to Memorial Park.  For more parade details, click here.  To read a Willimantic Chronicle story from June 11, 2011 on the new safety guidelines, click here.
