Eleanor Linkkila of Hampton visited the boat launch at Mansfield Hollow Dam on June 27, just after the lake water receded from Bassett's Bridge Road. It was the first time high water closed the road since the October 2005 floods. The June 2006 water level reached 30.03'. The October 2005 floods brought the level to 44'--the third highest level ever, behind June 1982 (52.6') and the runoff of hurricanes Connie and Diane in August 1955 (51.8'). Mansfield Hollow Dam was completed in 1951.
