Neil Braccidiferro

While Neil is the new kid on the block in the WILI newsroom, he's been around the broadcasting block a few times. Neil caught the radio bug early on, as a kid growing up in Hamden, Connecticut. While studying at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, the radio thing began at WSHU-FM. Then it was onto WYBC-FM in New Haven, the Yale University radio station at the time, where Neil served as news anchor, music programmer and program director.

A news internship became a full-time news anchor/reporter position at WPLR-FM in New Haven and WHCN-FM in Hartford. Connecticut news experience led Neil to a television news editor position at WTNH-TV channel 8 and at Fox 61 in Hartford. Following a stint as a anchor/reporter and copywriter for the radio news wire service WestWood One-Metro Networks in Hartford, Neil worked as a public relations specialist and writer for the OpSail2000 Tall Ship Festival in New London and Groton.

Neil lives in West Hartford with his family, but travels to New Haven, whenever possible for "real pizza, and doesn't golf nearly enough to even be considered a duffer. He enjoys photography, music, specifically, jazz, funk, soul and rock...oh yeah, and listening to the radio.
