HIGH PROFILE POLITICIANS AT THE 2006 WILI "BOOM BOX PARADE"
An unusually high number of politicians and their supporters marched in the 2006 WILI Boom Box Parade. This generated a tremendous amount of national and statewide publicity for the parade. An Associated Press story ran in hundreds of newspapers nationally, and the presence of Democratic Senate rivals Joe Lieberman and Ned Lamont was talked about in blogs all over the country. Some blogs even provided links to videos showing the much talked about "kiss float." And all the Connecticut network TV affiliates ran video stories about the parade. Here are some of the politicians who marched on Main Street on July 4th, 2006.

Local supporters of U. S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont entered this float, which was a parody of a kiss Joe Lieberman gave to President George W. Bush
